Kim Fields is a veteran actress with an eminent household name, starring in two long – running series, NBC’s “Facts of Life” and Fox’ “Living Single”. Both shows remain in worldwide syndication, consistently reinforcing her place as a global, pop culture icon.

Dr. Bennet Omalu was born in Nigeria (where he learned to speak Igbo and Pigeon English) during the Civil War. He is the sixth of seven siblings. His mother worked as a seamstress while his father occupied roles such as civil mining engineer, community leader in Enugu-Ukwu and deputy director of mines. Thus, the physician comes from a family that values higher education. For instance, his younger sister holds a PhD degree from Scotland in energy law.

Dr. Omalu started primary school at the age of three. He outperformed the older children in his class. He learned how to read at three like Oprah Winfrey, Johnnie Cochran, Shirley Chisholm, Condoleezza Rice and Toni Morrison. Being exposed to education so early definitely helped them to rise up. Later, the pathologist enrolled into the Federal Government College Enugu for secondary school. He began medical school at the age of sixteen at the University of Nigeria in Nsukka. In 1990, he obtained a MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) in Nigeria. He graduated from medical school in 1990. Albeit disappointed by the political situation of his country, he started to look for opportunities in America. He looked for scholarships. Hence, Dr. Omalu arrived first in Seattle, Washington in 1994 to finish an epidemiology fellowship at the University of Washington. In 1995, he enrolled in Columbia University’s Harlem Hospital Center for a residency training program in anatomic and clinical pathology.

Lee Chavous was born in the U.S. whilst the end of the Civil Rights Movement. His parents were part of the great migration when African-Americans escaped the adversities of the Jim Crow era in the south of the country. After high school, Chavous enrolled in college to earn a Business Management degree. He studied Business Administration at the University of Maryland (College Park). Afterward, he commenced his career as an entrepreneur. For the past 25 years, Lee Chavous has owned and operated several businesses in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. So far, as an author Chavous has penned a total of five informative kids’ books. Children need to know who they are to be able to go forward in life with a strong identity and a solid self-esteem. This is what Chavous does with his books. They cover areas of the African American experience that are overlooked. The book Dreams of my Ancestors reminds readers that the people who were kidnapped in the slave trade were humans who were raising sons and daughters, planting gardens, playing games, etc. In other words they were enjoying life before they were objectified, forced to become super-humans as slaves and so on. Their stories did not start in the cotton field in the Americas. Some were kings and queens from Africa. The youngest and most robust people from this continent were taken away and their lives were tragically changed forever. These individuals had names and ethnicities. Thus, Chavous does not present statistics in his books; he narrates life stories given that his ancestors were not nameless and faceless people.

Aldis Hodge is perhaps best known for his role as Alec Hardison on the TNT series Leverage which nabbed a People's Choice Award in 2013, in addition to his role as MC Ren in Straight Outta Compton. Furthermore, he starred in the Amazon pilot The After and enjoyed a recurring role on the AMC Revolutionary War drama Turn: Washington's Spies.

Aldis Hodge appeared opposite Alexander Skarsgard and Ellen Page in the eco-terrorism thriller “The East.” And he appeared in A Good Day to Die Hard, the latest installment of the “Die Hard” franchise.

Aldis Hodge started his career at 3 as a model for print ads and commercials. He made the transition to the small screen when he and his brother Edwin were cast on Sesame Street. Later, they joined the Tony-winning revival of Showboat on Broadway.

Divine Brown was born in Canada from Jamaican parents and grew up in Toronto.  She comes from a family of twelve kids and is the middle child.  Growing up, she loved hearing artists such as Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin and Deniece Williams.  Divine Brown started singing in the 80s.  More precisely, she began singing at age four and performing at age twelve.  Therefore, she has been on stage with The Temptations, George Benson and the rapper KRS.  Moreover, she opened for Brian Adams, Jill Scott and Erykah Badu.  Her first album Divine Brown was on the market in 2005 via Universal Music Canada.  Most of the songs were penned by Brown.  The single “Old Skool Love” from this CD became the highest on the Canadian charts for a debut from an R&B performer.  It reached the first position on the MuchMoreMusic chart; it was a top 10 for the MuchMusic (the Canadian MTV) chart.  “Old Skool Love” became a certified Gold seller.
